We love a good GAA war of words. That might be tawdry and slightly against the love of the game for the sake of the game but if there's a bit of media snipping, we're all over it. And as snipping goes, this one isn't too bad at all.
Last week, Martin McHugh offered a rather bizarre explanation for his belief that Meath football was in big trouble. The Royals had trudged to a win over Wicklow in Navan and, speaking to RTÉ Radio, McHugh stated that the problems which Meath are facing all stem from the fact that the Celtic Tiger has eroded the hardworking Meath attitude.
Unsurprisingly, Meath manager Mick O'Dowd was not too happy with the Donegal man's opinions and he has responded with some rather impressive put downs.
Those comments are irrelevant old stuff, he's probably a bit of a one-trick analyst himself, isn't he? To coin a phrase he used himself.
These thing are just stuff some fellas come out with and for supporters to debate. We don't have the time to be dwelling on stuff like that.
Meow.
Just in case you've forgotten, here's McHugh calling Colm Cooper 'a two trick pony'.
