Following the shock departure of Meath LGFA manager Davy Nelson last week, there was heavy speculation about who might take over the reigning All-Ireland champions.
Some people even believed Meath's former manager Eamonn Murray, who won back-to-back All-Ireland championships with the team would make a surprise return to the coaching panel.
After a week of uncertainty over who will try to take Meath to their third consecutive All-Ireland title, it was announced today that former player Jenny Rispin will take over the team.
In a statement released Friday by Meath LGFA, it was announced that the former Meath and Summerhill LGFA player will take over the senior Meath squad as 'interim manager' for the remainder of the 2023 season.

Rispin seems like the perfect replacement for the squad following Nelson's departure as she already has a strong relationship with the county and players.
Rispin's History with Meath LGFA
The former Meath player is well up for the challenge she faces this season, having previously found herself in a similar role with the squad back in 2015/16.
As a player, Rispin had an impressive and long career with Meath LGFA. She played for the Royal County for over 13 years and her experience, knowledge and love of the game is sure to help the Meath ladies go far in this year's championship.
Speaking on her recent appointment Ripsin said ''I am hugely proud to have been entrusted with this role following on from some amazing people. I hope to bring some continuity and stability to the set up where the focus is now solely on the upcoming TG4 All-Ireland series''.
