Mayo and Dublin will renew their rivalry as they face off against each other in this weekend's edition of the Allianz Football League Division 1. Here's all you need to know about Mayo v Dublin.

A game that has delivered some iconic battles in recent years there will no doubt be an edge to this game as both teams will want to get one over the other. Mayo, at home in Castlebar will be looking to maintain their good start to the season and defend their 2023 Football League title, they recorded an impressive victory over neighbours Galway last weekend an will be full of confidence going into this game.

Dublin are still finding their way into the season after losing to Monaghan in Croke Park last weekend. The All Ireland champions have trusted the wider squad in the opening weeks of the season. Speaking after the Monaghan defeat, manager Dessie Farrell explained that he was hopeful to introduce some of the more senior players as the weeks go by.

 "You’d be hoping to see them at some stage in the league, for sure.

‘They’re [Cluxton and Fitzsimons] two of the players I mentioned that are on an extended break. The league is a great platform to get fellas ready, sharpness and fitness, and all that.

‘But there’s also the fact that some players need extra time to let the bodies heal thoroughly and be fully recovered and ready to go.

At a certain stage in your career you have to be very careful how you manage yourself, or how you are managed.

‘Those lads are in that boat."

The fixture will take place Saturday 3rd of February in MacHale Park, Castlebar.  Throw in is at 7:30pm.

How To Watch Mayo v Dublin

The game will be available on GAAGO as well as being live on RTE 2 with coverage from 7:15pm.

Kevin McStay has made a number of interesting changes to the Mayo team who defeated Galway last Sunday. Paul Towey and Conor Reid come in to the starting fifteen as forwards, Bob Tuohy moves to the half forward line and Jack Carney starts in midfield

The Dublin team was named Saturday afternoon and see Cormac Costello and Con O'Callaghan starting in the full forward line.
