What a man!
Health workers in this country have never been as appreciated by the public in Ireland as they are now, with those on the frontline putting themselves on the line everyday in order to battle the coronavirus pandemic.
We should be incredibly thankful for all that they are doing and many around the country have attempted to show their appreciation in various ways.
One of the more creative ideas we have seen came from Cathal Freeman. Cathal plays inter-county hurling with Mayo and he came up with an ingenious method to raise money for healthcare workers.
Marathons are a tried and trusted method in raising money for charitable causes, but they aren't really possible at the moment due to Government guidelines around social distancing. So instead of a traditional marathon route, the 29-year old decided to run one on a patch of grass near his home.
He planned out a 30-metre circuit, which he would have to run a whopping 1,400 times to complete the standard 42km distance. What's more, he would do it all while soloing a sliotar!
The whole thing was streamed on the Mayo GAA Facebook page.

Brilliant stuff. Money will also be contributed to the Irish Cancer Society.
If you want to contribute, you can still donate to the cause here.
