It's a well-known fact that 99 percent of all selfies taken in Ireland include Marty Morrissey. The former Clare minor goalkeeper launched himself into the national consciousness in 1992 when uttering the immortal words "there won't be a cow milked in Clare tonight" after his adopted Banner county beat Kerry in the Munster final. Morrisey's cult status has been well-established ever since but today might well represent the pinnacle.
Revelers at Glastonbury have paid the ultimate homage to Morrissey - by emblazoning his image on one of the huge flags that catch the attention of the BBC cameramen. For no reason whatsoever - it seems to be a picture of Marty in space - but who are we to argue?
Marty was first seen enjoying French electro-pop outfit Christine and the Queens who are no doubt a huge personal favourite of the Kilmurray-Ibrickane clubman.
It's the ultimate tribute to the man - keep an eye out on the Glastonbury coverage on the Beeb this weekend to spot him.
