The draw for the quarter-finals of the Kerry Senior Football Championship was made on Monday night. The all club clash of Dr Crokes against Dingle looks to be the tastiest of the ties.

It could be made even more appetising with the addition of AFL players Mark O'Connor and Deividas Uosis to the Dingle mix.

At the weekend, O'Connor, and Laois' Zach Tuohy, won the AFL Premiership title with Geelong.

Speaking to Radio Kerry after the game, O'Connor's father John confirmed that his son will be travelling home to Ireland this Friday.

"He'll certainly be looking forward to togging out locally here, maybe at the latter stages of the championship if Dingle are still in it," he added.

"Mark is a Dingle man at heart. He's really looking forward to it. The last time he was home, he was injured, and he couldn't play. He was disgusted really."

Dingle manager Pádraig Corcoran told The Kerryman that he is "hopeful" of O'Connor playing. The 25-year-old joined Geelong in 2016, a year after captaining Kerry to a minor All-Ireland.

Along with O'Connor, Dingle could have Uosis, another minor All-Ireland winner who has been playing Down Under.

On Monday, Brisbane Lions confirmed that they would not be offering Uosis a new contract.

He was already back in Dingle when the news broke. Corcoran said that the 2017 minor-winning goalkeeper, who can also play outfield, called to Dingle's home ground following their five-point group stage defeat to championship favourites East Kerry.

"I would presume he's back and he's ready to go, yeah and back playing with us," Corcoran added regarding Uosis.

Dingle, who can also call on 2022 All-Ireland winners Tom O'Sullivan and Paul Geaney, finished second in Group 2 of the championship, behind East Kerry.
