I was taught maths in secondary school by a Kerry footballer, he only had two All-Irelands at the time (he would go on to win a third.)
That footballer was Liam Hassett. He became known as 'Schweeties' Hassett for one day questioning what a friend of mine had in a bag underneath the desk.
What have you got there Kennelly? Schweeties, is it?
We never tried to ingratiate ourselves to him like Marc Ó Sé's students though. When the four-time All-Ireland winner arrived into class this morning he was faced with the 'Greatest Kerry Team' on his whiteboard. It features him, his two brothers and his uncle.
Homework off for the week no doubt.
Controversial exclusions include Jack O'Shea, The Bomber and Jimmy Deenihan.
