Two teams that will meet in Division 3 of the National League next time around, Louth vs Carlow placed together two teams on very different trajectories.
Having been relegated from Division 2 without a point to their name, Louth will nevertheless have felt they had enough to deal with the Division 4 runners-up, Carlow.
However, it was Turlough O'Brien's Carlow who proved dominant throughout; picking up a 2-17 to 0-12 victory in Portlaoise.
Louth are brutal. Pete McGrath is a manager stuck in the 90s. Carlow have already had a good season and could take a big scalp yet

It was but opposition has to be considered. Louth really dire at even the basics.

Inspiring much consternation regarding how poor Louth were on the day, Carlow have taken their impressive league form into the Leinster championship.
Sitting only one point off Carlow at half-time, Pete McGrath's side only managed to score 0-03 in the second; Carlow ticking off 2-07 in the process. Reduced to 14-men late on, it was a day to forget for Louth.
Only Carlow's second championship win against Louth, they thoroughly outplayed their opponents and will now contest a provincial quarter-final against Kildare.
For the Carlow fan-base, they are content to let these good times roll.
"This is how it feels to be Carlow" wonderful attacking display from the barrowsiders today, the @Carlow_GAA lads enjoying a @59southbrewing beer brewed in Carlow and well deserved! 🇬🇳 #CarlowRising pic.twitter.com/MoVowvQsxZ
