In what could be the biggest innovation in hurley making since the fabled plastic hurley of the late 70s, some crafty London players have started experimenting with new 'extending hurleys'. As photographer John Mclwaine (the man behind other brilliant shots such as these) has informed us, the logic behind the new hurl is that it enables defenders to hook other players from a distance.

I don't know about you lot but I'm outraged. With the controversy over Anthony Nash getting to use the big hurl for his 21 metre/13 metre frees, its time for Congress or someone to take action and outlaw these scandalous extending hurls.tH
