Musician Michael Maloney joined the victorious Limerick hurling team on stage at Pery Square in the city for their homecoming celebrations on Monday night.
The Donegal singer and songwriter played his hit debut single What Do You Want To Know as Limerick players and management joined in.
It was the same song which came on in Croke Park as John Kiely lifted the Liam MacCarthy Cup, causing the Limerick manager to begin dancing in the Hogan Stand.
"What ye don't realise is that the tune that came on is one of our tunes in our dressing room," Kiely told The Sunday Game.
"And when it goes off in our dressing room, we go off with it, so I just went off. It didn't matter if there was nobody in the stadium, or me as it was, that was always going to happen!
"It was a bit of a release valve as well at the same time. It was great to go up with the two girls.
"It's been a challenging year but we've withstood every challenge that came our way. And I'm just really proud of the lads, really thrilled for the lads, that's my biggest emotion. It was a really tough year, and always just kept going back to the grind."
Limerick midfielder Darragh O'Donovan also told Off The Ball that players heard the song playing in Croke Park before the All-Ireland final "and it got us going".
