Carrickmacross Emmets beat Latton O'Rahillys in the final round of Group 2 of the Monaghan Senior Football Championship on Sunday.
Though the game was played behind closed doors due to new Covid-19 measures, late in the second half, a fight broke out between Carrickmacross players and an individual standing outside the fence at O'Rahilly Park.
It occurred shortly following collision between a Carrickmacross player and the fence at one end of the pitch.
Punches were swung by both sides. The man was pulled away from the incident by others but, after further words were exchanged, he returned to swing and miss with another punch.
The 1-13 to 0-9 victory sent Carrickmacross through to the quarter-finals of the competition where they will play Magheracloone.
After finishing second from bottom of the group, Latton O'Rahillys face a relegation playoff against Donaghmoyne.
