In ten years Lar Corbett will probably be to GAA what Tony O'Reilly is to rugby.
According to The Irish Times, the Tipp hurler, along with boxer, Matthew Macklin and a business associate of Corbett's are planning the purchase Hayes Hotel in Thurles.
The hotel was of course the birthplace of the GAA in 1884. It went into receivership in April of last year.
Corbett has stakes in two other businesses in the town including a bar and an Italian restaurant.
The Irish Times do not say what Corbett and associates have planned for the establishment though I'd love to visit a Maurice Davin-themed nightclub after the Munster Final.
