The new Laois managerial setup began their reign with a one point win over UCD in Park/Ratheniska yesterday.
Colm Parkinson, a trenchant critic of the incoming Laois manager Mick Lillis, was not encouraged by the team-sheet beforehand.
He saw a link between the number of Ballylinan and Emo lads selected and the fact that the new selectors are from those clubs.
4 Emo lads and 3 Ballylinan lads on the Laois team. New selectors this year from these clubs. Gas

Full forward Gary Walsh, one of the Ballylinan players recalled to the team for yesterday's game, did not take kindly to Parkinson's tweet. He sent on this arresting tweet, complete with ambulance emoji for good measure.
@Woolberto for ur own health & safety don't mention Ballylinan in a tweet ever again cheers ? — Gary Walsh (@PsychoWalsh) January 3, 2016
Parkinson tweeted back late last night.
@PsychoWalsh is that a direct threat from you?

After an appalling 2015, in which they exited the championship as early as it was possible to exit the championship, Laois football still looks in an unhappy place to outsiders.
