Hayes is a regular on the harness racing scene and he will compete again in a fortnight's time in Cork.

"Congratulations to Kyle Hayes getting his first win in harness racing today at the George Deane Memorial Day in Dunmanway. Kyle drove Someone’s Fantasy owned by C&H syndicate and trainer by Jamie Cross," wrote the Iris Harness Racing Association on Facebook.

Kyle will be back on the bike again in the 13/14 July at the Richard Phelan Memorial weekend in Lyre Clonakilty, after he helps Limerick against Cork in the All Ireland Hurling semi final next Sunday in Croke Park."

Young Hurler of the Year in his first year as an All-Ireland winner in 2018, Hayes has gone onto become one of the best hurlers in the country winning All-Star awards in each of the last four seasons.
