Ray Boyne was the head of Performance Analysis with the Dublin footballers from 2004 to 2013. On his Twitter account he has published this illuminating graphic outlining the management structure of an elite inter-county GAA team. As indicated in the corner, those shaded in purple are professional, and those shaded in white are amateur. The colour coding applied to this position of manager is interesting. Counties that don't follow this blueprint for preparation will surely get left behind. This must make intimidating reading for counties like Leitrim, who secured the grand total of €20,000 sponsorship from their main financial supporter 'The Bush Hotel' for 2014. But then, Leitrim are the only unbeaten team in 2014.
