AFL side St. Kilda have snapped up two rising inter-county players.
Darragh Joyce, younger brother of Kieran, captained Kilkenny to the All-Ireland minor hurling title in 2014. Ray Connellan, who broke his leg in the recent Leinster, has played for the Westmeath seniors for two seasons now.
Both are heading for Melbourne, according to the Australian daily 'The Age'.
They are said to have impressed in the Europe Talent Combine Trials. Both have been signed on two year contracts.
It's quite the vote of confidence in Connellan, considering his recent injury disaster.
"Our strategy from mid-2013 has been to increase our talent base through different means and we hope these boys could play a significant part in that," said St. Kilda head of recruitment Tony Elshaug.
