As the controversy and intrigue deepens over where exactly the Kildare/Mayo football qualifier will take place, there has been a seemingly significant development regarding ticketing for the putative doubleheader with Cavan/Tyrone at Croke Park.
As of last night, tickets were still available via the website of the GAA's official ticketing partner, tickets.ie, but that has changed today, with attempts to purchase tickets yielding a message to reading "there are no tickets available at this time. Please check later".
The GAA have yet to respond to our request for comment, although Tickets.ie told us that there is a technical issue with their website.
Tickets are still available on Ticketmaster, although there is no reference made on their website to the number of games being staged at Croke Park. Tickets on Ticketmaster are priced at €25: the same price as was on the GAA website for a doubleheader.
