The Kildare senior and minor hurlers completed a 40-hour run on Sunday morning to raise funds for the 'Roar for Ruairi' campaign.
Ruairi McDonnell is a six-year-old boy from Clane with a rare and terminal neurological illness. The campaign will help the family make renovations allowing them to take care of Ruairi at home.
The hurlers' run - which also included backroom team members - began at 6pm on Friday and concluded this morning.
Senior hurling manager David Herity - a Kilkenny All-Ireland winning goalkeeper - took the 2am to 3am leg near his home in Kells.
Thank you to everyone for the brilliant support, to date we have raised over €7,400👏#KildareGAA #KildareHurling #RoarForRuairi

Brian Byrne, the Kildare captain, brought home the anchor leg.
The target for the run was €4,000 but nearly double that has been raised so far.
