A challenge match match between Sarsfields and Ballykelly in Kildare had to be temporarily stopped for an unprecedented reason this evening, after the referee in charge of the tie forgot to put the handbrake on in his car.
The incident occurred around the eight minute mark in the game and was captured on video by a fan on the sidelines, the clip clearly showing the embarrassed official re-parking his car in the middle of the tie as thirty men on the pitch watched on:
Junior match stopped tonight in Sarsfields Newbridge as the ref left the handbrake off in the car. Game restarts with a dodgy kick out. @RorysStories @SashGAA @KildanganGAA @ballsdotie pic.twitter.com/XXWcJRRJsm

"Take your time ref," is definitely the cherry on top of this video.
When contacted by Balls about the incident the man who took the video, Alan Smith, explained that the official's car had rolled out from its spot during the game:
I just drove in and his car was blocking the road it had rolled out from its space. One of the club stewards had to roar onto him that his car was blocking the entrance so had to stop the match run up and reverse it back in and put up the hand brake.
Brilliant. I hope the ref put on a good chunk of extra time for the delay.
