Armagh's 2018 Championship came to an end last Saturday after a hugely entertaining 2-22 to 1-19 loss against Roscommon.
Armagh were left to rue a missed penalty and a poor final period, with four games in four weeks taking their toll. However, overall it was a decent season for Kieran McGeeney's side who won the Division 3 league and came within a game of the 'Super 8s.'
Speaking to the Irish Examiner after the game, McGeeney highlighted the players unavailable to the squad this year and praised the players he did have at his disposal. Then when speaking to the Irish News, McGeeney focused on the critics.
At times you listen to a lot of shit outside – usually from people who haven’t a clue. They sit outside and they pontificate. I played against a lot of these fellas and they were fucking useless back then and they’re still fucking useless.
Some of the stuff they come out with, trying to tell young fellas, just because they’re better than them. These young fellas that are coming through are really good lads, genuine, well-mannered and good commitment to it, but these fellas have to be in their ear telling them because they’re afraid that they’ll do something that they couldn’t do.
