Kieran McGeeney and his Armagh team soaked up the atmosphere at the Athletic Grounds on Monday night, as Sam Maguire returned to the Orchard County for the first time in 22 years.
Galway were vanquished in epic style on Sunday afternoon in Croke Park, with Armagh claiming only their second-ever All-Ireland title.
Armagh's victory comes after several years of heartbreaking defeats, with back-to-back Ulster final defeats on penalties and All-Ireland eliminations in the same manner.
It also marked the first All-Ireland crown of Kieran McGeeney's managerial career, after years of effort not only with his native Armagh but also with Kildare.
McGeeney was in electric form when the Armagh team returned home with Sam on Monday, and had a clear message for those who had written off his team at the beginning of this season.

Kieran McGeeney throws dig at Armagh doubters after All-Ireland triumph
Few would have predicted at the beginning of this season that Armagh would end the season as All-Ireland champions, a fact Kieran McGeeney was keen to remind everyone of on Monday evening.

The 52-year-old thanked his backroom team and the fans, before giving a pointed message to those who had doubted his players.
The last thing I'm gonna say is for these boys behind me because it's all about them.
It's always about the boys across the line and not the fellas who stand on the sideline. They're the ones that have to go for the ball, they're the ones that make the blocks...no matter what was said about them, they've been knocked down time and time again.
They were told they couldn't beat teams above them - they beat teams above them. They were told they would never get out of the group of death - they topped the group of death. They were told they couldn't win tight games - they won tight games.
Everybody said they wouldn't win the All-Ireland - and they won the All-Ireland!
Jubilant cheers of 'Geezer! Geezer!' rang out at the Athletic Grounds, as Armagh bask in the glory of one of their greatest-ever triumphs.
Kieran McGeeney's side certainly delivered when it mattered most in this year's championship, and proved a few doubters wrong with their exploits.
