Having recently announced his retirement from inter-county Gaelic football, Kerry's Kieran Donaghy was among the guests on tonight's Late Late Show.
No stranger to the show, there was a slightly sombre tone to proceedings as he looked back on an astounding career, and what will now come next for Donaghy.
Despite having his detractors over the years, Donaghy's appearance coincided with a whole host of well-wishes from those duly impressed with how he discussed such matters.
Kieran Donaghy is winning every woman’s heart right now on the late late

Kieran Donaghy. Good player, great character. His goal which finished Armagh in 2006 still sickening though! #LateLateShow #latelate

Discussing everything from the impact his mother had on his inter-county success, to the poem he wrote that signaled it was all over, Kieran Donaghy even took this opportunity to follow in Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh's footsteps and read the poem aloud.

Kieran, your fantastic, huge respect for you, you took a picture with my mom in Fitzgerald stadium on Munster final day 2017, she told you she wanted one last picture with you, she adored you, what you didn’t know was that she had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Thank you
