The Galway footballers have joined the Galway hurlers in the search for a new manager.
It was announced on Tuesday morning that Kevin Walsh has stepped down as manager of the county's footballers after five years in charge.
Walsh was appointed manager in September 2014, taking over from Alan Mullholland.
During his time in charge, Galway reached four Connacht finals, winning in 2016 and 2018.
They also reached the All-Ireland semi-final last year where they lost to Dublin.
Promotion to Division 1 of the National League was achieved in 2017 and retained in the two following seasons.
"Galway GAA have been engaged in the review process with Kevin, over the past week, and following consideration, Kevin has decided not to continue as Galway Senior Football Manager," the county board said in a statement.
