Kilmacud Crokes continued the defence of their county title in an impressive fashion this weekend, comfortably overcoming St Vincent's in a 0-17 to 0-8 scoreline at Parnell Park.

Having won this competition three years on the spin, Crokes will be considered as big favourites to claim a fourth successive crown over the coming weeks. They moved one step closer to doing so after this game, with this win making it two from two in the championship so far.

The Dublin club have an incredible playing squad, one that possesses both home grown and imported talent. The likes of Paul Mannion and Rory O'Carroll have been supplemented with some high profile transfers, the most well-known of which was Shane Walsh.

Geography has certainly helped in this regard, with quite a few players opting to join the club after moving to Dublin for work.

Ex-Kerry Underage Star Makes Debut For Kilmacud Crokes

The Irish Examiner match report on this game mentioned another arrival for Kilmacud Crokes, with former Kerry underage star Devon Burns making his championship debut for the club against St Vincent's.

A goalkeeper by trade, Burns starred for Kerry at both minor and U20 level, winning an All-Star in the younger age grade. He also spent time with the Kerry senior panel in 2023.

Now a member of an Garda Síochana based in Dublin, he recently switched from Tralee club Na Gaeil to his new side.

He is not the only addition Kilmacud Crokes made in 2024, with Sligo forward Paddy O'Connor also joining the club's ranks in recent times.

They could prove to be key members of the team as they go in search of another county title, as well as a fourth successive provincial crown. Having come up short in last year's All-Ireland final against Glen, you get the sense that they will also be targeting that competition over the coming months.
