Still in the running for a fifth-successive Electric Ireland All-Ireland minor football win, Kerry were run close by a Monaghan team that will be left wondering what more they could have done today.
Trailing Kerry by 9 points at an early stage of the second-half, Monaghan, with an ever-increasing number of supporters filing into Croke Park, fought back valiantly only for the reigning champions to nick the win in injury-time.
As man-of-the-match, Kerry's Paul O'Shea allowed some of the excitement spill over into his post-match interview with TG4.
Speaking to Micheál Ó Domhnaill on the pitch, O'Shea couldn't sum up in ordinary words just what this last-gasp win meant to he and his teammates:
MD: How satisfying was it to find those late scores to finally close out the game?
POS: It was brilliant, we knew Monaghan were going to be tough and we fucking...
MD: Go again Paul.
A wonderfully happy moment, it didn't take O'Shea too long to realise what he had said. Thankfully, the funny side was seen.
