By all accounts, Eamon Fitzmaurice was positively heroic in Finuge's Kerry IFC title win over Spa. He scored two points in the Donaghy role and set up the goal before heading into midfield to close out the game. What the media hasn't been reporting though is the fact Fitzmaurice fractured his jaw in the match after getting a flailing elbow to his face. He received a yellow card for his trouble.
All the best to my other hero @efitz6 who got his jaw broken (and a yellow card) yesterday. #hero

Rumour around North Kerry today is that Fitzmaurice will be out of Sunday's match against Limerick's Pallasgreen. With Fitzmaurice vowing to retire after this club campaign to take on the Kerry role in full, yesterday's match may have been his last ever.
