Last weekend, Bryan Sheehan captained South Kerry to victory in the Kerry Senior Football Championship.

It was the divisional side's first title since 2009.

Sheehan was inspirational in the win, scoring 1-5 as South Kerry defeated Legion by the minimum.

The midfielder's success this week did not end there however.

He followed up victory in the Kerry county final with a triumph for his club side St. Mary's Cahirciveen in the Munster intermediate football final.

Mary's eased past Carrigaline in a ten-point win on Saturday, Sheehan scoring 0-2 of their 1-16 haul.

Saturday's game was Sheehan's 11th in 11 weeks.

The win for South Kerry could be one of particular personal sigificance for Sheehan. As Kerry champions, South Kerry will select the Kerry captain for 2016.

Should St. Mary's win the South Kerry Championship - and they are currently the holders - it is likely Sheehan will lead Kerry next year.
