JP McManus has donated €100,000 to every Gaelic Games county board in the country today with the money to be divided equally among the local clubs.
The donation was first announced on social media and later confirmed to have been given to every county board in Ireland. A GAA Spokesperson told RTE the move was an "incredible gesture."
Brilliant news for all our clubs. Today I received a letter & a cheque for €100,000 from JP McManus to be divided equally among all our clubs. What a brilliant & generous gesture for anyone to do. #thanksjp

McManus is a renowned sports fanatic and has sponsored Limerick GAA for a number of years. He was invited into the dressing room following their All-Ireland hurling triumph.
A letter detailing the move was sent to each county board secretary with the funds to be split equally among clubs in each county.
