Loughmore-Castleiney won the Tipperary Senior Football Championship final by a point against reigning champions Clonmel Commercials on Sunday. John McGrath scored a decisive goal for Loughmore in injury time as his side won 1-12 to 1-11.
McGrath, who scored 1-2, was named Man of the Match by Tipp FM. As Loughmore drew with Thurles Sarsfields in last weekend's Tipperary hurling final, and McGrath scored 12 points, he was also named player of the game.
"We started slow and got back into it," McGrath told RTÉ Radio 1.
"It was a huge battle there all the way through. It was up and down. Those small breaks that go your way are the difference. There was no team that played a lot better than the other. It was just hard work. The breaks fell to us, and we took our chances when we needed to."

Regarding his goal, McGrath said: "They were working the ball out. It was maybe Liam and Brian turned over, from there, it was just quick hands working the ball to the next man. I'd say a lot of people would have rathered there was someone else on the end of it. I snuck it in."
Next weekend, Loughmore play Thurles in the hurling final replay with a remarkable double their aim. McGrath said he and his teammates will be back in training on Tuesday or Wednesday.
"We'll try to get the bodies right for a couple of days before that," said McGrath.
"We'll pick up the hurleys and focus on next Sunday.
"We just take it game by game, and week by week. Whatever game is coming up next, we'll have a look at that, and train for that for the week. People make a lot of it, but we're just used to it."
What a week for John McGrath!
