They say you should never meet your heroes, but for seven-year-old Westmeath fan Shane, he was delighted to meet his.
Westmeath star John Heslin was the guest at a birthday party in the county, where he joined Shane and his friends for a special day.
The Mullingar native tweeted photos of the party on Thursday evening, including a go in the bouncy castle. With Westmeath out of the Championship since July, which allowed the Mullingar native the chance to tuck into some birthday cake.
The 25-year-old revealed he "couldn't say no" to the invitation, and happily posed for pictures with the birthday boy and his family.
I was invited to Shane's birthday this eve and couldn't say no. Not long ago when the county lads were my idols! What the GAA is all about pic.twitter.com/qW7xRPFIaa

Heslin said that nights like Thursday's birth party was "what the GAA is all about".
It's not often you get a sporting hero to turn up at your birthday party. Well done to Heslin, for showing the power the GAA has in counties all around Ireland.
