Galway were 10 points down to Kilkenny with less than 10 minutes to go in Tullamore. In the last five minutes the men form the west went on a goal scoring spree with Joe Canning scoring an equalising penalty to put the teams level in injury time.
Henry Shefflin then scored a point to put Kilkenny ahead again. The drama did not finish there though as Joe Canning scored an amazing point from a tight angle out near the sideline to send the teams to a replay.
