Galway supporters can wipe that sweat from their brow over Joe Canning's injury.
The Irish Independent reports this morning that Canning should be fit and available for Sunday's All-Ireland semi-final replay against Clare in Thurles.
The 29-year-old was one of a number of Galway All-Stars forced to exit Saturday's draw with Clare in Croke Park. Canning limped from the field due to a knee injury with 82 minutes on the clock to be replaced by Davy Glennon. He had scored 12 points in the game, including two from sideline balls and four from play.
The Hurler of the Year's departure was in addition to those of Gearóid McInerney, Conor Whelan and Adrian Tuohy. A worrying moment it must have been for Micheál Donoghue to see so many important players sitting behind him on the bench with the game on the line.
It is said that there is more uncertainty regarding McInerney's injury. The centre-back left the game midway through the second half due to a calf problem.
Both Conor Whelan and Adrian Tuohy should be fit for 2pm on Sunday.
