Joe Brolly should probably have bought Pat Spillane a steak on Saturday. The Kerryman made Brolly's life just a little bit easier when he let slip a bit of info regarding his Sunday World column.
Though maybe he should have known better - especially given the Derryman's penchant for devilment - Spillane likely did not think that Brolly would use the admission as fodder for the opening paragraph of his Sunday Indo column.
As soon as the director said, "And we're out" in the studio yesterday, the three of us reached for the laptops to write today's pieces. "I'll race you" I said to Pat Spillane. "I seriously doubt it," he said. "I wrote the first three quarters of mine yesterday." Which tells you all you need to know about The Sunday World.
Suddenly, I've got a serious urge to read Spillane's piece.
