The DUP and Sinn Féin, and by extension much of Northern Ireland, have been divided over the provisions of The Irish Language Act for quite some time now. A central office, court proceedings through Irish and bilingual road signs are just some of the debated concerns.
Yesterday TG4 broadcast the highly entertaining Allianz National League clash between Donegal and Kerry. Coverage was excellent as usual and the spectacle was brilliant with five goals, three red cards and a last-minute winner.
Not everyone enjoyed it though, as Charlie Lawson tweeted his frustration at the Irish commentary and "weird game."
Sorry, what the fuck is an Irish language act going to do in promoting harmony, because as far as I’m concerned, that guy could have been asking me if I wanted a sherry in me Bloody Mary, whilst watching some weird game from I dunno where!! https://t.co/alwxq4O9lR

Lawson is most famous for playing Jim McDonald in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street. The Northern Irish actor admitted to supporting the actions of Loyalist groups in a programme in 2008 and is a big supporter of Rangers.
Former Donegal footballer Eamon McGee responded to the comment and made a reasoned counter-argument.
Some seven hours later, Lawson clarified his comments and said he would like the chance to attend a game.
After a lengthy debate, I was none the wiser, hence the tweet. So, again, could someone please tell me what exactly is “A stand alone Irish language act”, because so far , no one wants to explain!! And by the way, I’d love to watch a game! Right, off filming now.

The clip itself was a superb finish.
