Cork manager John Meyler told RTÉ prior to throw-in between Cork and Tipp in Thurles that his side would be starting the game at 100mph.
That was not an exaggeration from Meyler as his side raced into a seven-point lead after 13 minutes with no reply coming from Tipp.
An answer finally did arrive from Tipperary via Jason Forde - and it was an emphatic one.
Forde was the star of the National League for Tipperary in Seamus Callanan's absence. The two started beside each other on Sunday afternoon.
After taking possession just outside the D, Forde danced through the Cork challenges to fire a bullet strike past Anthony Nash.
What a cracker from Tipperary's Jason Forde! Goal! pic.twitter.com/AOEPbPgA8G
