Former Mayo manager James Horan is the surprise new favourite with Boylesports to succeed Jim McGuinness as Donegal manager. The bookie says that it has taken a number of bets which have lead to Horan being cut from 33/1 to 11/4 favourite.
Boylesports PR man Liam Glynn told the Indo:
The bets were all placed in our border county shops and now as it stands, James Horan is the worst result in the book for Boylesports. Our traders will be keeping a very close eye on this market in the coming days as it looks like now that information has leaked out from the Donegal GAA camp.
Paddy Power has also taken bets on Horan sufficient enough for them to move him into 4/1.
We've taken serious cash for James Horan to be next Donegal manager. 20/1 into 4/1! http://t.co/rienB2bIoA pic.twitter.com/MpqhyQP7l3

Rory Gallagher and Damien Diver are joint second favourites at 7/2 with Boyles while Declan Bonner, who this year managed Donegal to their first ever All-Ireland minor final, is fourth favourite at 5/1.
Horan stepped down as Mayo boss shortly after their exit from the Championship at the hands of Kerry and has since been replaced by Noel Connelly and Pat Holmes.
It would seem strange for him to return to inter-county management so soon after leaving Mayo and even stranger for him then to take over in Donegal.
