Kilkenny's finest unexpected style icon Jackie Tyrell could be partaking in an interesting experiment over in the states.
He may be trading places, for a show that is called fittingly enough 'Trading Places', with a Miami Marlins baseball player for a week.
The show envisions that Jackie will try his hand at professional baseball, while his US counterpart will come to Ireland for a while. Jackie told the Kilkenny People what the show would entail.
They will obviously have to get someone with an open mind to give up a professional environment to come to cold Ireland to play with The Village and try and sell milk for a living.
Nothing is signed off yet, but it is in the pipeline. He tries my life. I try his.
I never even held a baseball bat in my hand. Hopefully it will happen
We only hope the unsuspecting baseball player is ready for Brian Cody's training sessions (the swallowing of the whistle, etc). And we hope for Jackie's sake that baseball (a charming and romantic sport, we're informed) is more exciting to play than it is to watch.
Jackie is no stranger to American sports. Here is pucking balls over the crossbar at the home of the 49ers. Had there been a black spot it would have straight over it.
