Jack O'Connor is the latest name to be linked with the vacant Mayo manager job.
The Irish Mirror reports that the three-time Kerry All-Ireland winning manager has been contacted by the Mayo county board.
O'Connor won All-Irelands in 2004, 2006 and 2009 before stepping down from the Kingdom job for a second time in 2012.
The 57-year-old took over as Kerry minor manager in 2014, winning their first title at that level in 20 years. He also led them to All-Ireland success the following year before moving on to become Kerry U21 manager in 2016. That is a role he has held since.
The Dromid native is also among the favourites to succeed Eamonn Fitzmaurice as Kerry manager.
On Thursday, both Jim McGuinness and James Horan poured cold water on the possibility of taking over from Stephen Rochford.
McGuinness is pursuing a coaching career in another code while Horan would be open to returning as Mayo manager one day but is unsure if now is the right time.
