Jack McCaffrey returned to intercounty football in style in 2023, adding a sixth All-Ireland winners' medal to his collection as Dublin returned to the top of Gaelic football.
The Clontarf half-back was one of the standout players of Dublin's run to the five-in-a-row during the 2010s, winning All Star footballer of the year in 2015, and picking up back-to-back All-Ireland final man of the match awards for his exploits bombing down the wing for the Dubs.
After securing the five-in-a-row in 2019, McCaffrey stepped away from the panel for the following three seasons, before returning to the panel ahead of the 2023 intercounty season.

He came on in the second-half of July's All-Ireland final victory over Kerry, making a huge impact off the bench as Dublin triumphed by two points.
Despite preparing to line out for Clontarf in the Dublin senior championship over the coming weeks, McCaffrey has been spotted training with Galway club Salthill-Knocknacarra in recent days.

Jack McCaffrey training with Salthill-Knocknacarra
Clontarf star McCaffrey graduated with a nursing degree from UCD during his first stint with the Dublin senior footballers, and is currently working at the University College Hospital in Galway city.
Due to his work basing him in Galway, McCaffrey has been training with Salthill-Knocknacarra over the past weeks in an effort to stay fit.
There, he has linked up with manager John O'Mahony, who was also manager of UCD when they won the Sigerson Cup in 2016 with McCaffrey in tow.

Salthill-Knocknacarra manager O'Mahony hailed McCaffrey's attitude while speaking to John Fallon earlier this week, and said that they were delighted to accomodate an "inspiration" to the club's younger players:
It’s common practice for a club to facilitate a player who is away from home like this and we’re looking forward to Jack coming in. It can only benefit a squad to have a player of his calibre training with us and what an inspiration and example he is to a young player coming through.
There is no prospect of Jack McCaffrey lining out for Salthill-Knocknacarra, as the arrangement solely sees him training with the Galway club to keep his fitness up while based in the city.
