Jack Canning was named Man of the Match in the All-Ireland Minor Hurling final between Galway and Cork.
Later this afternoon, Jack's uncle Joe will hope to inspire Galway to their first All-Ireland senior hurling title since 1988.
Galway recovered from a Cork goal after just eight seconds and a three-point deficit at half time, fighting to two-point win.
Canning went scoreless in the first half but would end up with 2-2 to his name after he took over the game in the second 30 minutes.
Speaking to TG4 for his Man of the Match interview, the Portumna forward said days like this are why he started hurling.
Absolutely unreal. This is why you start hurling: for these days.
We start at underage, at under-6s and this is what it's all about. Coming to Croke Park and winning All-Irelands, this is why we do it.
Canning admitted that he did not have a good first half but the half-time team talk help to turn the game in their favour.
I had a terrible first half myself but the boys stuck to the guns.
They done it well and fought hard. They said at half-time: just reset, keep hitting hard, get the tackles, hooks, blocks in - the whole lot.
