The umpiring exams within the GAA are not the most rigorous. It appears there is only one question on the test sheet. Are you an acquaintance of the referee?
Well, here is another example of grade A umpiring at the Paul McGirr Memorial Ulster Under-16 Club Competition. The umpire in question, who judging from the catcalls and outraged abuse thrown his way, appeared to be called Mickey, did seem to have the sun in his eyes when he made his call. He brandished his flag with the usual timidity of an umpire chancing his arm.
