This weekend saw a lot of high quality GAA action as the provincial club championship reached the latter stages.

In Galway, the county hurling final was finally played between St Thomas's and Loughrea. The final ended in a thrilling draw, St Thomas 0-20 Loughrea 1-17.

Limerick champions Na Piarsaigh fell to reigning All Ireland champions Ballygunner in a thrilling Munster Club Hurling Semi Final, losing 2-15 to 2-20.

Ballygunner will meet Ballylea in the final, after the Clare club squeaked past St Finbarr's by one point, 1-12 to 0-14 in the other semi-final.

In the Connacht Senior Club Football championship, Galway champions Moycullen needed extra time to get the better off Roscommon club Strokestown, beating them 2-8 to 0-7 AET.

Elsewhere in Connacht, Sligo kingpins Tourlestrane beat Leitrim side St Mary's by two points, 0-8 to 0-6 in a tight affair.

Capital based side Kilmacud Crokes eased into the Leinster Club Football Final beating Laois champions Portalington 1-12 to 0-04.

They will meet The Downs in the final, after the Westmeath side beat Ratoath in the other semifinal, 2-12 to 0-17.

Sam Barnes saw Moycullen progress to the Connacht final with their win over Strokestown.

Daire O'Brennan captured Ballylea's terrific win and both Leinster Club semifinals.
