Limerick side Ahane GAA welcomed a debutant to their Junior team last weekend and what an impact their new recruit made. Former Munster and Ireland out half Ian Keatley played his first-ever GAA game during Ahane's 6-7 to 2-6 win over Adare.
Keatley played wing forward during his side's Junior A championship win, scoring an impressive 1-2. The goal Keatley scored has been described as sensational, though sadly no video exists.
After his gaelic football debut, Ian Keatley took to twitter saying:
"My first ever Football game tonight . Great to get the win with @ahanegaaclub and nice to have my number 1 supporter there too"

Keatley is Munster's second highest-point scorer with 1,247 points in 180 appearances with the province and earned seven caps for Ireland.
The former Munster man retired back in 2021 after finishing his rugby career with Glasgow Warriors after stints with Benetton Treviso and London Irish after leaving Munster.
Ian Keatley's teammate
Although you may think that Keatley is Ahane's most high profile player, they also have another former Irish international in their squad.
Just one year after his retirement, Keatley's former teammate Tommy O'Donnell is an integral part of the Ahane, squad although he didn't feature during his former Munster teammates debut.
O'Donnell seems to be a hugely versatile player for his side and has lined out at centre back, midfield and centre forward for the club and also plays hurling with the Castleconnell based club.
The former back-row made 12 appearances for Ireland during his rugby career and over 120 times for Munster.
The duo are also involved in rugby coaching in Limerick. Keatley is the new UL Bohemian coach in Division 2A of the All-Ireland League with Tommy O'Donnell as his number two.
Ian Keatley is also the coach of the U18s Munster School's Team.
