As we know, these could well change by the time the game throws in.
How are both sides set?
These two sides have experienced contrasting fortunes to start the league. Mayo have three points on the board after a draw against Donegal and a victory over Monaghan, a decent tally after fixtures against two strong sides.
As for Dublin, they have shipped two convincing defeats to being the campaign. The loss to Armagh at Croke Park was followed by a big defeat to Kerry in Tralee, with Dessie Farrell's men looking well off the pace on both occasions.
The Dubs will need a result in this game to stave off some growing relegation fears, although they continue to be without a number of first choice players due to injury. Farrell has admitted that his side will be using this league season to test out a number of newer squad members, although they will certainly want to pick up their form as soon as possibly in order to avoid ending up in Division 2 in 2023.
As for Mayo, a victory here would put them well in the mix for a potential league final later in the spring.
Of course, this will also be the first meeting between these two teams since last year's All-Ireland semi-final. The Connacht team would win an enthralling contest after extra-time on that occasion, ending Dublin's six year reign as champions in the process.
That will no doubt a bit of extra spice to this fixture, with a sizeable crowd set to descend on Croke Park to take in the action.
