Form Guide
The Banner County have emerged as one of the favourites to lift the Liam McCarthy Cup after a fantastic Munster SHC campaign. After beating Cork, Tipperary and Waterford while drawing against Limerick in the group stage, they progressed to the final of the Munster Championship. After there was nothing to seperate Limerick and Clare after 70 minutes, the game went to extra time where Limerick won 1-29 to 0-29.
Speaking after the loss, Clare manager Brian Lohan said;
"It was a tough way to lose a game, that’s the nature of sport and the nature of hurling. This is a great place to be; it’s a great occasion; there was great support from our supporters.
"It was brilliant and there’s nothing easy out there; it’s tough stuff. We came down here to win the game but we just didn’t do it. That’s sport, it’s tough but it’s life. That’s the breaks; that’s just the way it is and you have to move on. "
Despite beating Kilkenny and drawing with Galway during the Leinster SHC group stages, Wexford failed to make the Leinster final. A shock draw against Westmeath and a loss to Dublin meant it was another year with no Leinster silverware for the Yellow Bellies.
Wexford beat Kerry 3-30 to 0-18 last week with the impressive Lee Chin scoring 14 points. Chin's championship tally now sits at 0-39 for the season.
