The 2019 provincial championships are officially in the record books, with Limerick and Wexford coming away victorious in Munster and Leinster respectively. The Joe McDonagh Cup was also wrapped up, with Laois producing a convincing win over Westmeath in the final.
For the second year in a row, the round robin series was a roaring success. It featured plenty of drama, uncertainty, and cracking hurling.
But where does today's results leave us heading into the All-Ireland series? We now have a much clearer picture of how the remainder of the championship will play out.
Wexford and Limerick have both booked places in the All-Ireland semi-final, courtesy of their provincial glory this afternoon.
Laois' reward for their fantastic win in Croke Park is a meeting with Dublin in the All-Ireland preliminary quarter final in Portaloise next weekend.
Westmeath will also play in the preliminary quarter finals, when Cork will travel to Mullingar.
The winners of Laois v Dublin will then take on defeated Munster finalists Tipperary in the quarter final.
Meanwhile, the winners of Westmeath v Cork will face Kilkenny at the same stage.
We also know the pairings for the semi finals, where the winners from the Kilkenny match will face Limerick, while the winners from the other quarter final will take on Wexford.
Simple, right? Here's the whole thing summarised:
All-Ireland Preliminary Quarter Finals
Laois v Dublin
Westmeath v Cork
All-Ireland Quarter Finals
Kilkenny v Westmeath/Cork
Tipperary v Laois/Dublin
All-Ireland Semi Finals
Limerick v Kilkenny/Westmeath/Cork
Wexford v Tipperary/Laois/Dublin
The side of the draw featuring Limerick, Cork and Kilkenny looks especially enticing, and you can be sure we will get a couple of cracking games from that bunch.
Tipperary's side looks slightly more favourable, although Wexford will fancy their chances against anybody after today's result.
It should be a fantastic summer!
