It was pulsating, it was frenetic, it was epic. Dublin beat Kerry in the end. Among other things, the result of today's All-Ireland semifinal will surely mean the end of the road for many Kerry legends who have lit up our summers for so many years now.
The AIB Twitter account captured the absolute desolation of defeat for Kerry when they tweeted the following photo of Kieran Donaghy alone on the Croke Park pitch, long after the stands had emptied and the players had left the pitch, with his daughter Lola Rose.

It was possibly Donaghy's last time on that pitch as a player. The enormity of that moment is no doubt lost on young Lola Rose but your heart has to go out to Donaghy, who has given the game so much, only to watch another season end cruelly.
Here's a close up.
A similar desolation was writ over the faces of the Kerry players after the full time whistle.
