Long serving Cork football captain Graham Canty has announced his retirement from inter county football today.
The Bantry Blues clubman has called time on his career with Cork which spanned 13 years and included him captaining the county to an All Ireland title in 2010 as well as 4 Munster SFC titles and 3 All Stars.
Canty was the squared jaw icon of what proved to be a very fruitful period for Cork. Operating at centre-back, full-back or midfield, he came to symbolize their durability and athleticism. He joins fellow stalwarts and half-back soldiers Noel O'Leary and Paudie Kissane in retiring.
