After a lightning start at Croke Park, Tipp's elation was tempered by a nasty collision involving Cathal Barrett and Galway's Johnny Coen.

Racing up field less than two minutes into the game, Barrett ended up motionless on the pitch after he crashed into the Galway corner back.

Barrett was temporarily substituted and later returned to action.
