Last year, AIB inserted Sky Sports Soccer Saturday duo Jeff Stelling and Chris Kamara into the world of GAA. The two did some commentary on the All-Ireland football final between Dublin and Mayo.

This year, two more football icons will experience the world of our native games.

Former Spurs manager Harry Redknapp and Italian international Gianluca Vialli will take charge of two GAA teams for a mini-series titled 'The Toughest Rivalry'. The series will be broadcast throughout the summer.

Redknapp will manage West Cork side Castlehaven while Vialli will boss Finglas team Erin's Isle in a rematch of their controversial 1998 All-Ireland club football semi-final.

It's said that Redknapp and Vialli will be involved in the preparation and training of the teams for the game.

"I have learned a lot during my 30 years involved in professional football as a player and manager, but I am delighted to get the opportunity to come to Ireland and learn more about GAA," said Vialli. "I am interested in seeing what it is that makes this sport so special."

The 71-year-old Redknapp is similarly intrigued.

"I am thrilled to dive into the world of GAA," said Redknapp.

I took a trip out to London GAA training last week before arriving in Castlehaven to see what it is all about.

Having been involved in professional football for my whole life, I am really looking forward to working with AIB to get a real understanding of this sport and the central role it plays in Irish life not to mention getting one over on Vialli in the re-match.

AIB, proud sponsors of the AIB Club Championships and All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, have brought Gianluca Vialli to Dublin and Harry Redknapp to Cork to partake in the creation of their new mini-series, “The Toughest Rivalry” to be broadcast this summer. “The Toughest Rivalry” will showcase GAA rivalry with Vialli being immersed by AIB into the back-room team of Finglas club, Erin’s Isle, before taking charge ahead of a re-match of their infamous 1998 All-Ireland Club Semi-Final match against West Cork’s Castlehaven GAA Club, where Harry Redknapp will have taken the reigns.
